Travel & Stay

Big Sur has been called the longest and most scenic stretch of undeveloped coastline in the contiguous United States, a sublime national treasure that demands extraordinary procedures to protect it from development, and one of the most beautiful coastlines anywhere in the world, an isolated stretch of road, mythic in reputation. We are honored to be married in such a special place, and we ask our guests to move and act mindfully while visiting.

We recommend searching for additional hotels in the Monterey and Carmel area, there are many! Fewer are located within Big Sur.

Car Travel

We recommend carpooling when possible. Big Sur is a two-lane highway with limited parking.

Highway 1 in Big Sur has sections that are closed due to ongoing construction and repair work from past landslides. Specifically, if you are coming from the direction of Southern California it will not be a direct route.
